Fall - My Favoritest Season Ever. Ever.

Maybe you couldn't tell from the background of the blog, but I just really really love fall.  Orange, red, yellow leaves.  Cool weather.  Hot chocolate.  The crisp air.  Hay bales.  Gourds.  Pumpkins.  Corn stalks.  Sweatshirts and comfy pants.  I absolutely love anything and everything about fall!!!  I could also go for some cooler weather around here lately.  This near 80 stuff is driving me crazy!  I'm so glad my last month of pregnancy has been in the fall because I think it makes it so much more enjoyable.  And I think Nick would agree with me.  I'm probably a much happier preggo now than I was in the miserably hot, sweaty summer.  I am really not a fan of the hot, summer weather.  But fall, yes please!!

Here is some evidence of fall around our house:  And there's some more, but I didn't get to take pictures of it.  Just pretend.  :)

I got some gourds when we went to the corn maze this weekend with the church!!

I could just melt from the fall decorations section of Hobby Lobby.  Can you say weakness??!!  Yikes...
Luckily, for my birthday this year, I got some great gift cards from my sis, Plooer (I'll explain the name some other day), and my wonderful in-laws!  And my folks got me a whole bag full of fall decorations from Hobby Lobby!  YES!

Well, anyway - I just wanted to share my love and obsession with fall with you.  Now, go grab a cup of hot chocolate, grab a blanket and go read a book or watch a movie (preferable cuddled up to your significant other or favorite teddy bear)...and soak up every ounce of fall you can get!!

Prepping for Baby

Well, seeing as tomorrow is a week from our due date, we've got a few things on our mind - one in particular - A BABY!!!!  We've been working on his nursery and since his last name is Braschler you had to know it would have something to do with the outdoors.  We went with a hunting/fishing/camping theme - but not really camo.  Hopefully being in the outdoors will be something he comes to love, not to mention making great memories with our family, especially his daddy.  :)  I really can't wait to see Nick be a dad.  He's going to be so great at it.

Here's a look at our nursery:

My parents got the stuffed elk head and the "Twinkle Twinkle" sign...

This is a puzzle Nick put together a couple of years ago and has had it up in his office until now - isn't it such a sweet picture of a boy and his daddy out fishing?

Nick's Grandpa Braschler picked out this bear all by himself from the build-a-bear store in Branson.  Totally uncharacteristic and so so sweet of him!!  He must be excited about being a great grandpa!

This cute diaper bag is from one of the sweetest ladies ever - Sandy Kelley - who goes to our church here in Gravette.  She got it at a craft fair.  Isn't it stylish?

We can't wait to fill this room with precious memories with our baby boy!  Can't wait to meet him!  Of course, we'll post updates and pictures when he arrives!

Quick Update

It's been a pretty busy week at the Braschler house, so this will be a simple, quick update - because I've got to run to work!  Last Sunday was our first Sunday with our church's new pastor - Terry Longan.  For those of you who don't know, our pastor died last November unexpectedly, so we've been searching for someone for about ten months and finally found the man for the job!  We're very excited he's here and looking forward to doing ministry with him.

On Tuesday, my work threw a fabulous baby shower for Nick and I and we got some more great baby items and some money - which we used to order a swing and a pack 'n play!  It was so nice of them to do that for us!  Tuesday night we got to play games and have Nick's brother, Tyler, and his sweet wife, Robyn over for dinner.  It was so fun to hang out with them!  We played Loaded Questions and Tyler smoked us all!

Wednesday, we had our 38 week doctor appt and didn't find out much new news.  Now we're just kind of playing the waiting game until little Braschler decides to make his appearance - but we're SO ready to meet him!!!

Yesterday, I was able to have lunch with a great friend, Jenn Salsgiver, who just had a baby in May.  She was so good to let me ask her all kinds of questions.  :)  Last night I came home to a clean house and dinner on the stove from my super wonderful hubby.  Somehow, he always knows when I need a little extra blessing and always delivers!  He really is the best.

Tonight, the Gravette Lions (who are undefeated by the way) play Shiloh Christian in football, so we're having a tailgate party in the parking lot before the game.  This is a pretty huge game because these are the #1 and #2 teams in our conference.  We're looking forward to hanging out and hopefully meeting lots of people from the community!

Anyway, I better run.  Don't worry, I won't usually post a day by day account of our activities.  :)  It just worked for this one.  And the next post should have more pictures!!  Unless I'm having a baby in the next day or two...then it might be a few days before I post again....

Happy Friday!

Our Blogging Journey Begins!!

Well, here we are - making our debut into the world of blogging.  :)  We're happy to be here.  We want to try our best to keep this up-to-date and share about the goings-on (is that how you say it?) of our lives.  Nick is a part time youth pastor at a church here in Gravette, AR where we live and is also working part time for Simmons Foods as a Corporate Chaplain - his office is located in Decatur, AR.  He is in charge of 9 locations and travels to them off and on throughout the week/month.  He is loving this new opportunity and enjoys learning more and more everyday.  Valerie also works at Simmons Foods as a Fixed Assets Accountant in Siloam Springs, AR.  We are expecting our first child - a little boy - in (hopefully) the next 2 weeks or so!!  His due date is November 1 (2 weeks from tomorrow).  We have a dog named Maggie Pearl.  She is Nick's huntin dog (you have to say huntin' without the "g" or else your not a real hunter - or at least that's what I've picked up).  :)  She is a yellow lab and loves to dig and chew - but she's just so stinkin cute!

We can't wait to meet the newest member of our family in the next few weeks and learn what life is all about as parents.  We are thrilled, anxious, excited, terrified, and so so blessed.

Here's a picture of our little family - new arrival pictures to come when the new arrival comes!!  These are pictures from the end of July 2010 - our trip to Colorado.  And baby boy was about 26ish weeks in the belly bump picture and the ultrasound.  :)  He's much bigger now that he's 38 weeks!
