On Sunday, January 2nd, Nick had his ordination. He is now an officially ordained minister. We had such a special service at our church that made for a very special memory. Nick's parents and brother and my parents came from Wichita and his brother and sister-in-law from Siloam, grandparents from Springfield and Branson, and his uncle from Harrison, AR, as well as many members from our church and one of his mentors from JBU.
Nick's Grandpa Braschler read scripture, his brother, Tyler, and his dad led worship and his dad also gave a special message. It was so neat to see the third generation of Braschler men being ordained into the ministry. And what a blessing to have so many family members involved in and present at the service. We love our family and church family so much and are very grateful to be where we are. We celebrated with a wonderful reception afterwards with Grandma Braschler's famous punch recipe!
I know it was a proud moment for me as a wife and for his family to watch Nick make that commitment to be ordained into the ministry. Nick is so good at what he does and I just get so excited thinking about his future (and our future together as ministry partners - because it is a commitment for both of us) because that means he can only be challenged more and more and grow deeper and wider as a man of God, pastor, chaplain, and much more. We don't take this commitment lightly and accept the responsibilty proudly, knowing that there will be really great times and some really bummer times. But, all this is for God's glory, not ther of ours or anyone else's, and that's the greatest part.
So, here's to a continued life-long journey in ministry!!
