Monday, March 28, 2011 can be so tough.

At work we are doing an 8-week weight loss challenge.  Today is the first day.  Whoever wants to join puts $20 in the pot and we weigh-in every other week.  If you gain any weight, you have to pay an additional $1 per pound.  Whoever loses the biggest percentage wins some moo-lah!!!  (plus, he/she probably get to go clothes shopping for smaller sizes!! - BONUS!).
So, I'm taking the plunge.  It's time to lose more baby weight and first-year-of-marriage weight.  I want to feel comfortable wearing shorts & tank tops this summer.  I want to be an active wife and mother.  I want to take care of my body.  And I don't want to be so self concious about myself anymore or avoid pictures because I don't feel comfortable with myself.
I am so blessed to have an amazing husband who loves me no matter what I look like and who tells me I'm beautiful everyday.  I appreciate that so much as a female, but it's time now that I work on some self discipline.
I know that losing weight is all about changing your lifestyle, not just working hard for 8 weeks then stopping.  So, I'm sharing this with the blog world because now it means I really have to hold myself accountable!  Hopefully, by the end of this thing, I can show you before and after pics and be proud of the outcome!!!
Here's to a disciplined lifestyle of exercise and healthy eating. :)

I'm baaaaacck!!!

So, it's definitely been like a month since I've updated this.  I'm sorry to have left you hanging!  haha.  Since I know you were on the edge of your seat awaiting my next post.  yeah.........

Anyway, we're back in the blogging world.  Here are a few pics to sum up the last month.

My sisters came to visit before Valentine's Day

My Valentines!

Came home to a clean house!

Aren't they cute?

Nick's family came to visit in February

First part of March, we had a youth event called Seven2Eleven - we had a blast! (minus the one trip to the ER)

Trying big boy food!

Mamaw came to visit last weekend!  Caleb was so happy to see his "Mamaw the Great"

We spent a weekend doing yardwork.  Caleb supervised.  :)

Also, I never posted Caleb's 4 month stats:
Weight: 15.6 lbs (50th percentile)
Length: 26 1/4 in (90th percentile)
Head size: 16 1/2 in (50th percentile)
He did so great with his shots!  Cried for just about 20 seconds then smiled at the nurses as they left the room.  What a good little boy!

Here's the latest (as of March 6 - I know, I know - that was so long ago!!!!):

-  smiling and talking like crazy
-  loves to kick!
-  grabbing his paci and pulling it out of his mouth (and even putting it back in every once in awhile)
- eats so so much
- strong grip
- holding head up great
- turning his head when you talk to him
- recognizes Nick and I
- plays with toys
- drools constantly
- loves to suck his fingers/hands/whatever he can get his mouth on
- getting chubby cheeks
- loves his toy giraffe
- starting to hold his own bottle - sort of
- is great at letting other people hold him

Stay tuned.......Nick will be writing the next post!
