CPE & New Experiences
Nick is about two months into his CPE program. CPE stands for Clinical Pastoral Education. The program is a series of four 6-month-long units and each unit consists of classes once every other week (for the most part) as well as 200+ hours of being the Chaplain on call at a few area hospitals. This is such an incredible opportunity for Nick and another avenue for learning, which he loves to do. Once he completes the four, 6-month units, he will be a certified Chaplain. His nights on-call consist of being on call (imagine that) from 5 pm to 8 am, providing support for whoever may need it. Some nights he might be paged off and on the entire time and some nights might have zero pages.
These next two years will be full of many eye-opening and difficult experiences, but overall this is a incredible opportunity for Nick and I'm excited for him as he furthers his education and faces these new challenges. I admire him so much for the work he does. He is able to provide support for families and individuals during some of the most difficult times in their lives. God has gifted him greatly in this area and we know that He has placed Nick in this position to bring glory to Him.
