This has been a banner winter weather week. My dear friend Amber and I love winter weather and we have sure gotten a good taste of it this week!!
Caleb and I got to go for pizza for lunch this week because Daddy has been in Canada. Last week I was planning on taking him since Nick had a meeting and found out he had been hitting that morning. So I had to leave him there. I cried. Bothered mom more than him. But we made up for it today!
I found a website to watch Downton Abbey episodes. simplyjune.org. I watched the first season when it was on netflix and then it was gone and I have been wanting to watch the other seasons! Been a great thing while Nick has been out of town.
I read the first book in the Divergent series last week. It was great! I will hopefully start the next one soon. My SIL Robyn and I are reading it and then going to have a girls' night out for her birthday to watch the movie in March!
My fingernails are the best they've ever looked (minus the three that I accidentally chewed a little). These prenatal vitamins are magic for my nails!
Lately, I have been loving Biffs coffee in amaretto flavor. Kind of an almond-y taste. Mmmm! And I looked at the label the other day and it is made in Arkansas!
My sister Julie and her hubby Aaron and their sweet girl Zoey are coming to visit this weekend! We are very excited!! And on Saturday night we are going to NWA Healthy Marriages Valentine dinner event. It is free! Looking forward to it.
I had a doctor appointment today. My glucose test. Thankfully, I passed and they said my iron and blood pressure were great too! Also, got to hear baby girl's heartbeat. Doc said it was strong and sounded so good. Music to my ears. We are 26 weeks tomorrow. And I haven't done a thing to her room. Poor second child.
Caleb's favorite song in the car lately is #1 on the Little Big Town album. He asks for it every car ride. We sing Jesus Loves Me just about every night and just recently he started to do the actions with me. For awhile I thought he was totally disinterested in the song, but it warmed my heart when he did the actions the first time. :) And knew all the words.
Most weeks I feel like I can just barely do the basics around the house: dishes and laundry. And when I say dishes, I don't mean the bigger pans and cookie sheets that you have to wash by hand. Those pile up until I can't fit any more in the sink and do a huge pan washing. And clothes are lucky to even get folded, let alone put away. I'm trying to get better. Sometimes I'm successful. :)
Saturdays are my favorite days. Mornings are unhurried and productive. I do my best work in the mornings, so when there is only one of those days at home (because Sundays we're at church), I try to soak it up. And I usually try to make breakfast. Breakfast is my favorite meal. Normally it is just a boring breakfast bar during the week at work and sometimes a smoothie if I get up early enough to make one. My favorite breakfasts are biscuits and gravy or hashbrowns and anything. Pancakes are good too. Who else is hungry for breakfast tonight? mmm...
Caleb and I are going to our friends' house for dinner. It is a sweet family with 3 kiddos that goes to our church. We love them. And she just texted me that she is so glad we can be comfortable "weeknight" friends - where you don't have to clean your house up for each other to come over. :) I love that. That is how it should be.
We had a fun superbowl party (notice I didn't say game? Because that was pretty sad. But I am still a loyal fan, always will be) with friends. And delicious food. Like cheese dip and guacamole and ham and cheese sandwiches and bacon wrapped goodness.
Snow days should be for sweatpants and book-reading. Not working. Too bad that is not reality for us.
Friday I get to have lunch with Robyn. I am excited because we don't usually get to go out for lunch since we're in different towns, but she will be in Siloam on Friday so it works out perfectly!
I know it has been so long since I posted. I even have a Christmas post all typed out, I just haven't added pictures. Because they're all on my phone. Something about trying to download too many pictures from my phone tires me out. haha. First world problems.
I also haven't mailed pictures of Caleb to the grandparents - pictures that were taken last spring. Yikes. That is pretty bad. And I was supposed to mail my Grandma a calendar from a flower shop in town. She emailed me the other day asking about it. Oops. I still haven't done it. :( Maybe she will get it before February is over?
Pretty soon Nick and I get to go on a weekend getaway. I am so excited. Maybe to Big Cedar Lodge? I can't wait.
Ok, this is long enough. Until next time... :)
