Last Pregnancy Update

Today we are 39 weeks along! I am actually writing this post from a hospital bed. We checked in this morning to be induced. My blood pressure has been a little high, so the doc recommended we come in to get things going. They just started pitocin and will break my water here soon.

Our parents made it here safely last night and are taking good care of Caleb. We are excited to meet our sweet girl and are praying for a quick and smooth delivery!

Here is a round up of belly pics from this pregnancy:

Come on baby girl!! We can't wait to meet you!

Showered with Love

We have been so very blessed with baby showers for this sweet girl (who will hopefully arrive tomorrow!).  We have some very special people in our lives who sure know how to love us well.

Our first baby shower was for our church family at the Butler's house.  :)  The Butlers are like our Arkansas family.  This is where our cow, Mack, stays and we have become very close to all of the Butler family.

It was such a wonderful day with delicious food, fantastic people and so many things to get us ready for baby Caitlyn.  People have been so very generous and we are so thankful.

One woman at our church made this sweet blanket with the colors we're using for baby girl's nursery (yellow and gray).  I love having handmade things.

Thank you to Ronda, Hilary, Mandy and Nikki for all of their hard work for this shower.  It means so much to us!

Our second shower was put together by my sweet sis-in-law and we got to celebrate with family and friends.  My parents, Julie and Zoey, Claudia and Nick's grandparents traveled from out of town to come.  We appreciate it so much!  It was also great to see so many other ladies we don't get to see as much as I'd like.  Friends and other family.  :)  We played a fun game of guessing who's baby picture belonged to who and Robyn made some delicious food for us to enjoy!

I loved seeing all the pink!!

Before the party, we made a family stop in to Freddy's to see Nick's brother, Tyler.  Jack and Caleb make sure to keep a close eye on where Tyler is at all times while we are there.  It's very cute.

Caleb was so excited for Zoey to come that he played in her pack n play all morning.

He loves Zoey so much.  He will be a great big brother!!

Again, words can never express how grateful we are to everyone who came and sent gifts for our girl.  We are blown away!!

Last week, my boss and another co-worker, Amy, threw a diaper shower for us.  It is amazing how many diapers and wipe we received!!  We are all set for a LONG time!  This is an incredible blessing and majorly helpful.  We also got some cute outfits and bows.  Caleb got to come to this party and he had a blast.  He was so polite and helpful.  What a sweet boy.  One of my thoughtful co-workers even got a gift for big brother.  It had candy, bubbles, trucks and a coloring book with crayons.  We are so very fortunate to work for a company with all these wonderful people!

My boss made this cute diaper wreath.  I hope to use it in Caitlyn's room!

It is not lost on Nick and I how incredibly blessed and fortunate we are to have all these wonderful people in our lives.  We feel so loved and we look forward to telling our sweet girl how many people love and care for her already!

Thank you so much to all of our friends and family!

Easter 2014

We came back from our Roaring River trip on Saturday and the next day was Easter.  I had plenty of grand ideas I wanted to do the week leading up to Easter, but not a single one happened.  I had found several ideas of things to do to help little ones learn about the Easter story in the Bible - focusing on the fact that it's about Jesus, not bunnies and candy.  I didn't get around to doing an Easter basket or stuffing and hiding eggs.  Nick actually bought the candy and stuffed the eggs Easter morning and we hid them that afternoon so Caleb and Jack could go hunting.  But, I can't say that I am really sad that I didn't do some of the "typical" Easter traditions, because Easter really is about focusing on Christ and His love for us and the glorious conquering over death.  He is Risen!

Here is Caleb on Easter morning.  Nick got him this hat while we were at Roaring River.  He loves wearing it all around the house!  He put it on one day and said, "I look good!  I'm a cowboy!"  haha.

Jack and Robyn came over after church and we had a delicious lunch and just hung out all day long.  The boys had a blast playing together and after nap time, they got to play outside and find Easter eggs.

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter together celebrating our risen Savior!
