The weekend before Christmas we had our annual Christmas Train weekend (here is 2013 and 2012). My family came down for the weekend and we did our Goetz Christmas together! Brenden and Aaron didn't make it down and we missed them, but my parents, sisters and Zoey all made the trip! Saturday morning we opened presents and Dad read the Christmas story from the Bible.
We went to Barnett's for lunch (dad's fav). Then we headed to Pryor, OK where Mom and Dad had gotten two hotels rooms for us to all stay in. We spent the afternoon swimming in the hotel pool and we all had a blast! That evening we headed to the Christmas Train. I have written about the Christmas Train before, but let me just say again how much fun this tradition is. I will warn you that this place has become very popular, so you have to be ready when the tickets go on sale (first week or so in November) to make sure you get your tickets, but so far we have managed to get ours the past 3 years. This is probably my favorite thing to do at Christmas time. A church puts on the event (which is several nights in December) and all of the people there are volunteers. The "town" is decorated all over and there are so many things to do! We ate BBQ, watched a puppet show, Caleb rode an "elf train," rode the Christmas Train (which tells the story of the Bible as you go along), did some shopping, rode the carousel, rode on a horse drawn hay wagon. There are lots of riding things apparently, lol.
